Ganesh Chaturthi is celebrated in Sanatan Dharma as the birth anniversary of Lord Ganesha. This day is also known as Vinayaka Chaturthi. Lord Ganesha is revered as the remover of obstacles (Vighnaharta), and as the deity of wisdom and knowledge. He is worshipped before beginning any new venture.

Ganesh Chaturthi, also called Vinayaka Chaturthi, holds immense significance in Hindu tradition. Lord Ganesha is believed to remove difficulties, hardships, and obstacles from life. According to our Sanatan tradition, no new undertaking—whether constructing a house, starting a business, or setting out on a journey—should begin without first invoking Lord Ganesha. Worship on Ganesh Chaturthi ensures divine blessings and grace throughout life.

This festival also nurtures unity and love within families and communities. In India and Nepal, it is observed with grand processions, decorative tableaux, and collective devotional singing (bhajan-kirtan). Meditation on Lord Ganesha and chanting of His mantras bring peace of mind and strengthen spiritual energy.
